As many businesses have experienced operational changes under COVID-19 restrictions, we strongly recommend contacting them directly to confirm details before planning your visit.

Out to Sea

In the late spring, iceberg and whale watching is a regular event in St. John’s, with a steady flow of giant visitors to be found along our coastlines. Perched on shore are their friendly cohabiters, with over 400 species of birds including the famous Atlantic puffin, St. John’s is considered to be the seabird capital of North America.

Explore

This isn’t the kind of city break that skimps on nature. In fact, St. John’s is surrounded by whales, icebergs, seabirds, hiking trails, lighthouses, and dramatic scenery, not to mention pristine parks, lakes, ponds, and walking trails inside the city. Here, you can sample the history and traditions that come with a 500-year-old port city, and still trek along the rugged coastline in search of that perfect photo opp.

As evening hits, many of the city’s downtown offerings keep the hour happy and the belly full with finger foods and cozy atmospheres. Being a stone’s throw from the sea provides chefs and diners alike with an one-of-a-kind culinary universe. Feeling crafty? Take a stroll to a local craft brewery for a tour and a swig of a variety of malts and hops.
